Turkish publisher for Cyberpunk 2077 says the game is coming in 2019

The Turkish publisher for Cyberpunk 2077 says the game will indeed be released next year. Not in 2077, thankfully.

Terrible joke aside, the Istanbul-based publisher Bilkom stated last week on Twitter CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077 would arrive in 2019.

Bilkom also publishes The Witcher games in the region, so it's not some obscure company tweeting for the sake of it. Of course, it could have been an error made in its part; therefore, don't take the information as gospel just yet.

The tweet has been removed, but VG247 Turkey was able to grab a screenshot beforehand.

CDP hasn't commented on the tweet as of press time, and has previously stated the game "will release when it's ready." A 2019 release window has been hinted at, but never 100% confirmed.

Two years ago CD Projekt Red received  a $7 million grant from the Polish government to work on tech advancements for the game. It's said there's a 2019 release deadline attached, but an extension isn't out of the question.

During E3 this year, Mike Pondsmith, creator of Cyberpunk 2020, said we may be waiting a few more years. While 2019 is indeed a possibility, his comments suggest Cyberpunk 2077 could just as easily release in 2020. The year would be rather fitting, considering the source material.

As with all unconfirmed information, take the 2019 release window with a grain of salt. For now, keep up with everything we know about Cyberpunk 2077 through our main hub.
