Uwe Boll documentary, "F**k You All", has a brand-new trailer
F**k You All: The Uwe Boll Story takes a close look at the filmmaker's controversial career, warts and all.
Uwe Boll is not a beloved name in gaming. This German filmmaker was notorious for gaining the movie rights to video game classics, only to release one disastrous flop after another. He eventually retired to launch a fine-dining restaurant in Vancouver - which actually has solid reviews - but he's generally remembered for terrible films and harsh attacks against critics.
That career is the subject of a new documentary, named after one of his final messages to non-fans: F**k You All. Comprised of interviews with film reviewers, co-workers, and Boll himself, this film aims to explore what his film career and his legacy.
On paper, Boll's career certainly looks impressive. He's developed 32 films ranging from small indie projects to Hollywood big-budget pictures. But he was also notorious for burning bridges when things didn't go well - to the point of literally challenging critics to boxing matches. And he actually followed up on his boasts, pummeling several into submission and gaining the nick-name "Raging Boll".
In other words, he's a perfectly controversial subject for a documentary. And given how much gamers despise him, F**k You All could potentially do quite well. At the very least, it'll be interesting to see his reaction if this documentary gets better reviews than Alone in the Dark.
