PUBG is getting a Training Mode next month with a shooting range

A long requested feature is coming to PUBG next month: a shooting range. But wait! That's not all.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds players will soon be able to try the new PUBG Training Mode which lets 5-20 players explore a 2x2 km map and practice all aspects of gameplay.

This includes driving around race tracks, performing parachute landings on targets, and using the shooting range. Areas to practice vaulting, combat in close-quarters, and vehicle jumps are included.

PUBG players have been asking for a shooting range for quite some time, but the team wanted to go "beyond  just a shooting range."  Instead, the team opted for an "open, living map" which allows players to "test a variety of skills to their heart’s content."

The map is broken up into  short and long range combat sections, vehicle races, jump skills, vaulting, vehicle ramps, an more.

Each section represents a gameplay situation players may become involved in during normal gameplay.  The goal is to provide new players with an understanding of PUBG basics; provide an outlet for casual players to experiment; and to give serious players an area to learn about deeper gunplay.

While more details will be shared on Training Mode closer to launch in September, this feature list from PUBG Corp. provides a general rundown.
