Watch the explosive Battlefield 5 gamescom 2018 trailer
We're just days away from the start of gamescom 2018, and EA has rolled out a big new Battlefield 5 trailer.
As promised, following the short teaser DICE dropped yesterday for Battlefield 5's gamescom trailer, the full thing is now available for all to watch.
Titled Devastation of Rotterdam, the trailer features in-game footage of several of the locations we'll be visiting in multiplayer, including Europe, and North Africa.
This is entirely in-game footage, as you're about to see, and it looks glorious as always.
There's also a teaser at the end for what looks like single-player footage. This may actually be our first look at Battlefield Royale, the game's battle royale mode. It's very possible the encroaching ring of fire is the blue zone's stand-in, constantly forcing players to the centre.
If that is indeed the battle royale mode, it's interesting to see attack vehicles will be available for use.
This is the game's first trailer since the brief E3 2018 teasers. We could be looking at the start of EA's big awareness and marketing push for Battlefield 5, which hasn't really been present thus far.
The game reportedly isn't doing well in pre-orders, so now would be a good time to remind people there's a big, mainline Battlefield game on the horizon.
Of course, we're going to get loads of footage from gamescom, too, where the Battlefield 5 beta build will be playable. This version should show a new map, not to mention changes in gameplay since the alpha.
Gamescom 2018 takes place August 21-25 in Cologne, Germany. Battlefield 5 is due for release October 19 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
