Uncharted director says movie is "close to the starting line"
Uncharted movie director Shawn Levy has confirmed the project is almost ready to begin production.
Last month's short film starring Nathan Fillion was proof that a full-length Uncharted movie might be everything fans have craved. The good news is that filming is almost ready to begin.
Director Shawn Levy recently told Playlist (via Eurogamer) that Uncharted is just about ready to enter the production phase.
"The closest to the starting line is 'Uncharted'," Levy said. "We now have a very good script and we have our star in Tom Holland. That is now subject to schedule and additional casting. But I would say as of right now, that seems to be the most near horizon. And it’s a movie I’m very excited about."
The Uncharted movie was still undergoing rewrites and casting changes last year, but it seems everything is coming together. Tom Holland will star as a younger version of Nathan Drake in the early days of his adventuring career.
Any film project with Tom Holland would need to be filmed around his Avengers and Spider-Man projects, but if everything else is ready? We might get to watch an official Uncharted film in a few years.
