Celebrate Wrecking Ball's release with a free Overwatch weekend on PC

Anyone wishing to experience the joy of Overwatch's new hamster hero can do so on PC for free starting today.

Overwatch's new hero, Wrecking Ball, went live for all earlier this week, but even those who do not own the game can try him out this weekend.

Blizzard has confirmed it's hosting a free PC weekend from July 26-30. Players will gain access to all 28 heroes, all 18 maps, and various gameplay modes.

Anyone with a Blizzard account will be able to download Overwatch through Battle.net and start levelling up. If you purchase the game afterwards, your stats and progress will carry over to the full game. The exception is achievements, which have been disabled for the free weekend.

Otherwise, players will be able to access Quick Play, Play vs. AI, Custom Game, and Arcade modes for the duration of the event. Overwatch's free weekend begins today at 11am PT, 1pm ET, 7pm BST.

You'll be able to play until Monday, July 30 at 11:59pm PT or 3am ET, 8am BST on Tuesday, July 31.
