Bonuses earned during Pokemon Go Fest available worldwide

Pokemon Go players can now reap the benefits from completing the Global Challenge during Pokemon Go Fest.

Pokemon Go Fest was held in Chicago last weekend, and thanks to attendees and Trainers around the globe, bonuses are in effect until July 23.

All related bonuses earned during Pokemon Go Fest are available worldwide. Players will earn double the usual Candy when catching Pokemon, double Candy when hatching Eggs, and a guaranteed Rare Candy during raids.

Eggs will hatch in half the distance, including 7 km Eggs that hatch Alolan forms.

It's worth reminding folks Zapdos Day is coming up this Saturday, July 21. The Legendary Pokemon Zapdos will be available in Raid Battles around the world during the following times:

  • The Asia-Pacific region: 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. JST (GMT +9)
  • Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. UTC (GMT +0)
  • The Americas and Greenland: 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7)

When players spin a Photo Disc at a Gym, they will receive a Raid Pass up to five times starting when the event kicks off in the Asia-Pacific region.

Zapdos is one of Pokemon Go’s Best Pokemon, and one of the best electric-type Pokemon in the game. Plus, the Raid Day Zapdos will automatically know Thunder Shock.

Pokemon Go Fest took place the weekend of July 14 and  21,000 people attended the Chicago event. Niantic Labs also announced 180,000 people participated in the surrounding Chicago area, and tens of millions worldwide took part in Professor Willow’s Global Challenge.

Next month, Pokemon Go players can participate in the Eevee-themed community day event. This event is a worldwide affair, and it’ll run for all Pokemon Go players on August 11 and August 12.
