Players will "conduct crazed experiments" when Hearthstone: The Boomsday Project releases
The Boomsday Project is the next expansion for Hearthstone and it comes with 135 new cards and "mischievous" game mechanics.
Hearthstone: The Boomsday Project is set release next month. Players will find mad scientist Dr. Boom has built hidden laboratories in the Netherstorm. Experiments conducted in the labs will spill over into Hearthstone.
Players will discover spells with effects they assume will benefit both players, but this is Hearthstobne after all, so things aren't always what they seem.
There are nine, new Legendary Spells, Projects, and Omega cards which dole out rewards when played at 10 mana crystals.
The mad doctor has penchant for bots and bombs, and with The Boomsday Project, he'll unleash a "Mech-related innovation" called Magnetic attraction. This keyword allows players to merge Mech minions, combining their attack, health, and abilities "to construct amalgamated automatons."
A new single-player experience called the Puzzle Lab will also be included. Details will be shared at a later date.
The Boomsday Project card packs will be winnable in Hearthstone’s Arena mode, and players can purchase them with in-game gold or real money.
Starting today and up until the expansion is released, players can pre-purchase card packs in two different bundle options. The 50-pack bundle includes a free, random golden class Legendary and the Mecha-Jaraxxus card back.
The 80-pack Mega Bundle also includes a free, golden class Legendary and Mecha-Jaraxxus card back, as well as a new playable Warlock Hero—Mecha-Jaraxxus, Eredar Lord of the scientific community.
These one-time-only bundles are available on any platform for $49.99/£44.99 and $79.99/£69.99, respectively. They can be purchased once per account.
Hearthstone: The Boomsday Project releases August 7 for Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android.
