Fortnite's Sniper Shootout LTM loses the scoped assault rifle
Fortnite's Sniper Shootout LTM is losing the Scoped assault rifle because it doesn't "stay true" to the mode's design.
Fortnite update v4.4 saw the return of the Sniper Shootout Limited Time Mode, which features just two weapons: the Sniper Rifle and Scoped Assault Rifle. But in a minor update, Epic Games has announced the removal of the Scoped AR, and instead, we'll see the Thermal Scoped AR in the LTM instead.
"We’ve gotten a lot of feedback around the inclusion of the Scoped ARs in the Sniper Shootout LTM," read the update. "The LTM was designed with long range Sniper combat in mind and the standard Scoped ARs do not stay true to this design.
"However, we feel that the Thermal Scoped AR still fits the 'Seek and Eliminate' style of the LTM and will remain for the time being, albeit with a reduced drop rate."
The Thermal Scoped AR was introduced in the 4.4 patch, along with a new soccer stadium.
Fortnite update v4.4.1 made a few additional tweaks, including bringing back the Shopping Cart, as well as adding the option to report players in Save the World mode.
The game also made its Switch debut this week, and was downloaded 2 million times on the console within the first 24 hours.
