Don't Starve: Hamlet players will encounter smartly dressed Pigmen in December
Don't Starve fans will be able to get their hands on the Hamlet expansion in December.
Klei Entertainment's next round of content for Don't Starve won't be released until December. A late release for Don't Starve: Hamlet is better than no release at all though, right?
According to the developer, the team isn't quite where it wants Don't Starve: Hamlet to be yet.
"We're sorry for the delay, it's just taking us a bit longer than we anticipated to fill out as much content as we are aiming for," said Klei in a forum post.
The studio did see fit to release an E3 2018 trailer, and as a fan, I found it rather great.
In it, our main man Wilson Percival Higgsbury goes through a portal, and finds himself walking through a "hamlet" inhabited by smartly dressed Pigmen.
The animals are a mainstay in Don't Starve and are harmless unless one happens to come by while you are killing a monster and eats enough meat dropped from the mob. Then, the pig will turn into a hostile Werepig. One can also turn if caught outside during a full moon.
How this will come into play in Hamlet - or if it does - remains to be seen. The thought of an entire town of pigs caught outside during a full moon sounds like swine hell to me.
Klei released Don’t Starve: Nintendo Switch Edition back in April, and it includes the Shipwrecked and Reign of Giants expansions. The game is also available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Steam users who've held off on purchasing the game can get a great deal this weekend. For just under $27, you can pick up the Don't Starve Mega Pack. It includes the core game, both expansions, and the standalone multiplayer game Don't Starve Together.
Need another incentive to buy the game? There are tons of mods available through Steam Workshop, and some are pretty damn great.
