Call of Cthulhu E3 trailer threatens to overwhelm your sanity
Call of Cthulhu is looking great, but when will the stars align for a release date?
So far, Cyanide's spin on Call of Cthulhu looks like something Lovecraft purists are going to love. Sure, you've got cultists, monsters, and an unsettling Massachusetts setting. But it also captures that feeling of dread that things are not going to work out for our hero in the end.
As proof, I submit the latest E3 trailer. If you want to risk madness by watching, that's up to you.
Call of Cthulhu follows Edward Pierce, a private investigator hired to look into the tragic death of the wealthy Hawkins family. Naturally, he discovers that sinister forces are afoot, preparing for the arrival of Cthulhu in all of his destructive glory. That's bad enough for humanity, but there are personal consequences for Pierce as well - as suggested by a possibly prophetic painting he stumbles across.
The game has a 2018 release date, but so far Focus Home Interactive hasn't provided anything specific - to protect our own sanity perhaps? Either way if you're a fan of Lovecraft or Focus' new emphasis on horror, this should be worth checking out.
Call of Cthulhu will launch for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One sometime this year. Cthulhu Fhtagn.
