E3 2018: Vigor is the new survival game from DayZ developer Bohemia
A couple of days before E3 2018 kicked off, Bohemia Interactive began teasing an Xbox One exclusive announcement.
The Arma and DayZ developer didn't reveal much at the time, but it's now officially announced Vigor. Vigor is a survival shooter coming to Xbox One through Game Preview later this year.
As you may have seen in the teaser, the game takes place in post apocalyptic Europe. More specifically, Norway in 1991, where the country has become the region's last stand.
The end of civilisation turned Norway into "a cut-throat land of survival where only the ruthless or cunning make it out alive." The reveal trailer and the game's official website sadly only tell us very little.
What we do know is that Vigor is a third-person survival shooter where players can scavenge for supplies, and take shelter in abandoned homes. You'll also be able to upgrade and improve your new abode, and of course, fight other players.
Bohemia says encounters will feature eight to 16 players. The game sounds like it's going to have all the hallmarks of some of the studio's previous work.
Vigor is intended as a free-to-play game, which is what it'll become at some point in 2019. Later this year, however, you will be able to buy your way into the Xbox Game Preview beta.
If you want even earlier access, you can sign up for the closed preview at the official site.
