Arekkz shows off some Jump Force gameplay footage
Arekkz Gaming had a chance to play the anime-inspired fighting-game Jump Force, and it looks great so far.
One of the most surprising reveals at E3 2018 was Jump Force, a fighting game that applies Smash Bros-styled character mash-up to anime franchises. Goku, Frieza, Luffy, Naruto, and many more fan-favorite characters will get the fighting game treatment here, which sounds fantastic on paper.
But how does the gameplay itself hold up? After the Microsoft E3 presentation, Arekkz went straight to Jump Force to play for himself and share his thoughts in the following video.
Jump Force is a 3D-fighting game that the video describes as a mix between Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm and a traditional Dragon Ball Z game. Players create a team of three characters, who are dropped into one of the anime settings to face against another team. Teammates can be called in to activate certain special moves, or swapped with your current fighter mid-match.
Speaking of characters, Bandi Namco's hands-on demo features some extra fighters that weren't in the reveal trailer, including Zoro (One Piece) and Sasuke (Naruto).
You'll have access to a variety of standard attacks, special movies, and super moves. Each attack is inspired by character abilities from each respective series. It looks like Jump Force will be fairly straightforward to pick-up and play, but still has a range of mechanical depth for long-time fighting game players. Most importantly, the video specifically notes that Jump Force's controls feel quite solid, which is a must when crafting a successful fighting game.
You can watch the video for Arekkz full feedback on Jump Force. The finished game will launch for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in 2019. It will include enhanced visual options for PS4 Pro and Xbox One X.
