Here's our first look at battle royale survival shooter Fear the Wolves
Fear the Wolves, the multiplayer survival shooter from Survarium developer Vostok Games, has revealed its first screenshots.
Fear the Wolves is set in the Chernobyl wasteland, which makes sense given that many at Vostok worked on the STALKER series.
The game was first unveiled in February, and thanks to today's batch of screenshots, we get to take our first look look some of the environments.
Fear the Wolves is a 100-player battle royale game, but it brings its own interesting twists to the formula. For one thing, the game's weather is unpredictable. You'll not only have to ward off other players, anomalies will force some into situations they may not be ready for.
The game features radioactive zones that can only be explored with the proper gear. Gear you must scavenge first, and take the risk for what promises to be loot-filled zones. Vostok is also teasing a PvE element of mutants, but it's not clear what role the AI will play.
The safe zone's timing is dynamic, but it also has different phases of varying damage that allow for different play styles. Unlike PUBG and other battle royale games, you're not always encouraged to be at the centre.
Fear the Wolves also has another original mode that Vostok is not talking about yet. That said, the developer promised to reveal more details at E3, which hopefully means we'll be seeing a bit of gameplay footage.
Fear the Wolves is coming to PC, first as an Early Access title this summer.
