GTA 5 mod features crazy power-ups and Battle Royale elements
Complex Control is a Grand Theft Auto 5 mod that combines permadeath, blink teleporting, and Battle Royale elements into a bizarre-yet-fun experience.
If Grand Theft Auto 5 came out today, Rockstar would be considering how to incorporate Battle Royale into the game - much like it's doing for Red Dead Redemption 2.
Thankfully, GTA 5's mod support can give us a glimpse of what might have been. Enter Complex Control, a single-player mod which drops you into a city of gun-toting enemies and challenges you to survive for as long as possible. And it looks fun!
As reported by PC Gamer, Complex Control has 70 different playable characters to choose from. On starting a match, you must attempt to survive and build-up kill streaks, leveling up permanent-progress meters along the way.
Where Complex Control really stands out are its power-ups. The mod boasts "over 50 unique and balanced abilities with cooldowns" that you can access in game. Perhaps the most exciting of these is Blink Teleport, which lets players teleport seemingly anywhere in visual range - including in and out of vehicles. I'll let you imagine the action movie hijinks available with a little practice.
You can download Complex Control right here. Once installed, the mod will use its own save system, so you don't need to worry about conflicts with your regular game.
Now we'll just have to see whether Los Santos gets an official Battle Royale mode of its own.
