Capcom's pulling Puzzle Fighter off mobile stores and shutting servers down in July
Capcom is shutting down its tile-matching multiplayer mobile game Puzzle Fighter.
The news was announced today Puzzle Fighter would be removed from mobile stores on July 1.
Capcom Game Studio Vancouver will then start dedicating its focus to the Dead Rising franchise.
The game's servers will be shut down on July 31, when means there's still plenty of time to play it. Look over our Puzzle Fighter tips which cover the character list, unlocks and how to win in the mobile version.
A great reason to play it between now and then is due to Capcom gifting all players 10,000 in-game gem currency.
All in-app purchases will be disabled on Monday, April 23. But any existing purchased in-game gem currency, and those being gifted, can still be used in the game to upgrade characters before the server is shut down.
The company is also making characters Regina, Dr. Wily, Ada Wong and stages Darminor and Uroboros Laboratory available for free. Regina and Dr. Wily will be available in-game later today, while Ada Wong and the new stages will be released on Monday April 23.
Later today the game’s soundtrack will also be available to stream online for free via SoundCloud. In addition, the previous Classic Mode special limited event will be available at all times up until the server closure.
This news comes just a few weeks after a rating for Puzzle Fighter was posted by European ratings board PEGI. The listing was for a console and PC port of the mobile title which launched in November 2017.
An announced for its release outside of mobile has yet to come about.
