Immortal: Unchained, the Souls-like RPG-shooter hybrid, is getting a closed alpha in March
Immortal: Unchained blends hardcore Souls-like combat with shooter mechanics.
Immortal: Unchained was announced in August last year, and the idea of Souls mechanics finding their way into a shooter always sounded interesting.
We only had a short teaser to go on at the time, but now, developer Toadman Interactive released a new gameplay trailer for a better look at how shooting and Souls-like combat can work together. Unlike Bloodborne, it seems firearms will be used for more than just parrying.
The typical flow of combat seems to switch between melee at close range and standard shooting at a distance.
The developer also announced that the game's closed alpha will take place March 8-12 on PC. The alpha will offer up two of the game's locations, and you can sign up for it today at the official site.
Immortal: Unchained is out later this year on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
