Red Dead Redemption 2 announcement coming next week
A Red Dead Redemption 2 announcement of sorts is coming next week.
Rockstar tweeted news today of a Red Dead Redemption 2 announcement scheduled for Thursday, September 28 at 11am ET, 4pm BST.
At this point, only Rockstar knows what the plan happens to be, but it could be anything from a new trailer to a firm release date. The tweet didn't elaborate, as you can see, but we suspect a trailer is in the cards.
Red Dead Redemption 2 was revealed in October last year with a short teaser video, and we know virtually next to nothing on the plot other than it will have “incredible emotional depth." Both Rockstar and its parent company, Take-Two, aren't chatter boxes and have always kept details on projects close to their chests.
We do know there is a deal in place with Sony that’ll grant PS4 players first access to some online content, and while online will be an important component for the western, T2 has said it won't cannibalize GTA Online.
Originally slated for a 2017 release, Rockstar announced in May Red Dead Redemption 2 had been delayed into spring 2018. In its fiscal year-end report, T2 listed the game for release during fiscal year 2019 which runs April 2018 to March 2019.
With ‘spring’ still being targeted, unless it sees another delay, Red Dead Redemption 2 will release sometime between April and June 2018.
Red Dead Redemption 2 has been confirmed for release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. A PC version has not been announced.
