Expect a new Conan game from Funcom in the future, but not until Conan Exiles is finished

Funcom's latest financial report mentioned it has another Conan game in the works, but the company won't start on it until Conan Exiles is completed.

A new Conan game will indeed be coming at some point in the future, but Funcom has insisted Conan Exiles is its number one priority.

"We’re planning another Conan game, but full production won’t start until after Conan Exiles,” Funcom stated on Twitter. “Our plans are to continue supporting Conan Exiles after launch, but first we need to concentrate on having the best launch possible.

"We will make sure it is good and ready before we do anything else.”

According to the studio, Conan Exiles will remain in Early Access for the next six months and until it's finished, there won't be any resources pulled.

In the latest financial report, the company outlined its new strategy to release multiple games per year. Other than the new Conan title coming later down the road, a tactical turn-based strategy game is also in the works. Slated for release in 2018, Funcom is working on the title with studio Bearded Dragons International.

The company is still working on Secret Worlds Legends, which is the free-to-play version of its MMORPG The Secret World. A television show based on the IP is also in the works, so expect quite a bit of Funcom goodness for the foreseeable future.

Conan Exiles has become the company’s biggest earner, and recouped its 13 month development budget of $4.5 million in just one week.

The firm's Q2 2017 period was the second consecutive profitable quarter, making the first half of 2017 its most profitable half-year period in company history.

Funcom's focus for the foreseeable future is fixing bugs and investing to improve, expand and prepare Conan Exiles for Xbox One Game Preview, The Frozen North expansion update, and long-term work towards the game's full launch including PS4.
