Final Destiny Trials of Osiris goes live this weekend, go say goodbye to being completely owned

Destiny players have one last opportunity to be completely outclassed on their truncated journeys to the Lighthouse.

Trials of Osiris is one of Destiny's most hallowed rituals. Every weekend since House of Wolves released, hopeful Guardians present their passage cards and enter fierce 3v3 on a set map. Only the best of the best, or those who can find a Sherpa to carry them, go flawless and make it to the Lighthouse.

If you've never done it and always wanted to, this weekend is your last opportunity. Destiny's live service comes to an end this month, and after farewelling Iron Banner last week, we're now facing the very last Trials of Osiris, too.

We expect regular PvP rituals to return in some form in Destiny 2, which releases on consoles in September, but it hasn't been confirmed. Besides, whatever rewards are unlocked by success in the sequel won't be the same as having been there in the first game, will they?

Bungie has elected not to announce the Trials of Osiris map this week until it goes live in Destiny at 10:00am PT tomorrow. That doesn't mean you can't prepare; I recommend firing up The100.io and begging frantically for a Sherpa, for example.

Trials of Osiris requires Rise of Iron, by the way - just in case you still haven't picked up the last expansion. That also means it's only available on PS4 and Xbox One, as the older consoles bowed out of Destiny's live service last year.
