Hyrule Warriors was a stroke of genius, uniting Zelda's timeline with Dynasty Warriors' gameplay to create a brand-new experience for each series. Now Nintendo wants to see if it can do the same with another RPG franchise with Fire Emblem Warriors - and a new trailer shows us what the experience will look like.

When an evil dragon appears in a small kingdom, its ruling monarchs appear to be killed in its destructive path. Since the threat cannot be stopped by one hero alone, a prince and princess must gather heroes who have appeared from other worlds - including Marth, Xander, Corrin, and others. The trailer provides a crash course in the heroes you can expect to see, while showing off brief glimpses of their abilities on the battlefield.

Along with the new trailer and love screenshots, during Nitendo's Treehouse Live event, it was announced a new Coliseum Mode would be included. There will be arenas from past games in the series, extra game content separate from the story, waves of different enemies, but the emphasis will be one-on-one battle against many different heroes.

This fall is already shaping up to be a busy for Nintendo, thanks to games like Super Mario Odyssey, Kirby, and even Xenoblade Chronicles 2. But if you're a Fire Emblem (or Dynasty Warriors) fan, the chance to lead these characters in the battlefield might be too good to pass up.

Fire Emblem Warriors will launch for the Nintendo Switch in Fall 2017.
