Devolver Digital's E3 2017 press conference makes fun of the press, gamers, has a lady's head exploding
You owe it to yourself to watch Devolver Digital's E3 2017 show.
Devolver Digital promised last month that it would host its first E3 show this year. The publisher delivered, and in a way only it could.
Devolver hosted a long livestream that featured live gameplay and appearances by pro wrestlers (I think?), but before that went on, Devolver broadcast a pre-show that was all kinds of absurd, in a good way.
The 15-minute video, seen above, was pre-produced and it was seemingly designed to ridicule a few of today's games industry and consumer trends. Releasing broken games, stage audience's over-appreciation of every announcement, online comments about what should and shouldn't be in games, and even the throwing money at the screen meme.
It's one of the best things you'll see today, if you're even slightly into the publisher's brand of humour. A lady's head explodes, and a dude's hand gets chopped off, it's all pretty surreal, but probably not safe for work.
Oh, and there were some video game trailers in there, too for Ruiner, and Serious Sam's Bogus Detour. You can watch the full conference archive through Twitch, it starts at ten hours and five minutes into the video.
The show itself didn't feature new games, just lets plays of old ones, but it's pretty out there that you really need to witness it firsthand.
