The Surge developer Deck 13 has released a new behind-the-scenes video that gives us a chance to hear the developers introduce their game.

Particularly interesting is the discussion about the the game's mechanics and how they came to be, specifically the limb-targeting system unique to The Surge. There's an interesting bit in there about the challenge of motion capturing an EXO rig and translating that movement into the game.

We also get to hear a bit about the backstory of Creo, the corporation that plays a key part in the game's story. Creo made its money by offering solutions to world problems such as global warming, but things have gone awry.

The Surge is out May 16 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
