The Secret World is relaunching as Secret World Legends later this year
And no, you can't carry over your progression with the relaunched Secret World Legends.
Funcom's The Secret World is getting a relaunch this spring with revamped combat, an overhauled progression system, and a new coat of paint in the form of updated visuals.
The announcement came a couple of days ago, followed by a letter from the producer, Scott Junior, that went into more detail about what the relaunch would mean for existing players.
“One of our biggest goals in relaunching the game has been to reimagine the core gameplay experience in a way befitting a modern-day action RPG,” said Junior.
“Secret World Legends features combat that feels more natural, deep systems that are more intuitive, better structuring of the early game for new players, and improved mission flow to strengthen the pace of progression for players.”
He goes on to explain that, "given the sweeping extent of the changes being implemented, Secret World Legends will reset story progression for anyone who joins, offering a fresh start for all players."
But don't start hyperventilating just yet. Secret World Legends is on a separate server to that of The Secret World, so you can still play with your existing character all you like.
