Yooka-Laylee gets co-op, multiplayer modes, and a new gameplay trailer
Yooka-Laylee lets you and your fiends enjoy a variety of modes together in co-op.
Yooka-Laylee developer Playtonic has confirmed that the game will include local co-op in a few different ways.
In the main campaign, another player can take control of the Bee Team, while the first controls Yooka and Laylee. The second player will be able to collect butterflies and quills, as well as disarm traps in the world to help the heroes out.
There are also eight arcade modes, all of which can be played solo or in local co-op for up to four players. The modes all have leaderboard support, and can be found in Rextro's Arcade in the game.
These arcade modes include a racing game in Kratos Karting, an arena brawler with Glaciators, a capture the flag mode called Blag the Flag, a shoot-em-up mini-game with Gun-let Run, and platforming challenges with Jobstacle Course and Hurdle Hijinx.
If you collect the special play coins found in the single-player campaign, you'll be able to power up the arcade cabinets that have these games.
Yooka-Laylee is out April 11 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
