GTA: San Andreas introduced us to Los Santos, so it's only right we revisit it with GTA 5.

GTA 5 may not take in as much of San Andreas as the eponymous game, and the streets may not have the same configuration - but it's grounded in Rockstar's earlier explorations of Los Angeles and California. You even visit CJ's hood during a mission.

YouTuber Swake has made the connection explicit by remaking a memorable GTA: San Andreas trailer in GTA 5's excellent movie maker. 12 years later, the whole thing is obviously a lot more shiny - but Rockstar's pitch still has legs. I'd play that, even without character animations in the cut scene sections.

The whole thing makes me super nostalgic, and really keen to get wrapped up a GTA saga again. It's a shame Rockstar isn't interested in GTA 5 story DLC, but that's the price we pay for the success of GTA Online, I guess. No more stories till GTA 6 - whenever that happens.
