The Witcher 3 Blood & Wine as big as Skellige Isles combined, to release before E3
The Witcher 3 developer CD Projekt RED was recently interviewed by German site GameStar.
The entire interview is in German, but thanks to Reddit user Pawel95's translation, we now know a bit more about the upcoming Blood and Wine expansion, which the studio has been very quiet about.
Pawel95 summarised a few of the interview key points, and revealed a bunch of new details in the process. First up, Blood and Wine still doesn't have a set release date, but it's expected before E3, which takes place in June.
In terms of size, the landmass in the expansion will be as big as all of the Skellige Islands combined. Skellige is of course one of the main game's regions, and it was pretty huge.
The expansion will also bring a new Gwent deck, according to interview.
There were other non-Witcher 3-specific items discussed in the interview, here are a few points:
- They do not plan to remaster the original Witcher or The Witcher 2
- They do not plan to bring out a retail version that includes all three games
- They're considering a GOTY edition for The Witcher 3 with all patches and expansions included
We expect to hear more official news about Blood and Wine in the near future.
