Second warning: DO NOT read any further or watch the video below unless you want a part of Dark Souls 3 to be spoiled for you.

According to the video from Digital Foundry below, the third part of the game returns players to the Anor Londo, which was the capital in the original Dark Souls.

Since the current game takes place many, many moons later, things have changed drastically since players first visited the legendary city of the gods.

As you will see in the video, the palace looks worse for wear, it's frozen over, and the brightness of the city has been replaced by perpetual moonlight.

While a location in a previous game being present in another of the same franchise isn't breaking news, it's interesting to see the technological changes over the years. From Software's latest engine provides the area's original assets with a higher resolution and gives the added fresh designs a nice pop.

Along with superficial and current lore changes to the city, the map has changes as well, which is a given considering things have fell to ruin. Still, it's nice to see it make a return.

Dark Souls 3 is out not on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. If you need help with anything, be sure to check out our Dark Souls 3 guide.

The first DLC is expected sometime northern autumn, and the second content pack will arrive in early 2017.
