Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition multiplayer has gone missing
You'll note April 13 is the same day Dark Souls 3 was released, but whether the third entry's launch had anything to do with the issue is unknown.
Bandai Namco has been quiet on the matter despite reports being sent in, but thankfully, the company's US community manager is on the case.
As PC Gamer reports, all multiplayer functionality from invasions to messages are down. Many players point to a modification made to the Dark Souls config files, which you can see over on SteamDB.
Some players theorize Bandai Namco changed things around to "free up resources" for Dark Souls 3's multiplayer. Hopefully, the publisher will either issue a fix or explain what the problem is soon.
Those playing the current release might want to take a look at Dark Souls 3 game guide. We're constantly updating it, so if you are having a hard time with anything in particular, hopefully we can help you out.
