Thief film adaptation gains traction with Straight Up Films acquiring the rights
Straight Up Films has acquired the rights to bring the Thief franchise to the big-screen.
The film will be produced under Roy Lee's Vertigo Entertainment and Adrian Askarieh's Prime Universe production company as previously reported.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the story will be adapted by screenwriters Adam Mason and Simon Boyes.
The report states the film will be set in the game's "dark fantasy world" as the master thief Garrett tries a city held in a tyrant's grip.
Hopefully, the script won't deviate too much. But, as with most Hollywood films, there'll be a love interest thrown in for good measure. There always is, ugh.
Will it be Basso's sister, the wood nymph Viktoria or someone new? Doesn't matter. Garrett will have one, surely.
