Information on Call of Cthulhu has come to light along with the first screenshots, courtesy of Focus Home Interactive.
In development using Unreal Engine 4 at Cyanide Studios, its' the official video game adaptation of Chaosium's pen & paper RPG Call of Cthulhu.
The RPG-Investigation game with psychological horror and stealth elements takes the player with finding the "truth behind the death of an acclaimed artist and her family."
Players will discover more than they bargained for when the Great Dreamer, Cthulhu, "prepares its awakening." That sounds rather scary.
"We are happy that Focus entrusted us with the development of a videogame adaptation of the legendary RPG Call of Cthulhu," said Cyanide CEO Patrick Pligersdorffer.
"As long-time fans of the license, working with longtime partner publisher Focus Home Interactive on such an original and exciting project is, once again, a privilege."
The game was announced back in January 2014 via a set of concept art from developer Frogwares. Things went dark after that until yesterday when a new teaser website popped up.
Call of Cthulhu will release in 2017 on consoles and PC.
