The Division beta the biggest for a new IP on consoles with over 6.4 million players
Players made The Division's open beta the biggest beta of a new IP on new consoles.
Ubisoft has announced that 6.4 million players took part in The Division beta.
The open beta, which ended earlier this morning, had players hooked for 4 hours and 52 minutes on average, more than a third of which was spent in the game's Dark Zone.
The Dark Zone itself was very popular, with 2.5 million players going rogue over the course of the beta. Over 63,309,800 contaminated items were also extracted from there.
"We want to thank the millions of people who joined in on The Division’s Open Beta," said creative director Magnus Jansen. "We hope everybody enjoyed playing, and we think the beta is going to help ensure a great launch for the game."
The full game is due for release March 8 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
