Red Dead Redemption is now backward compatible on Xbox One
Surprise! Red Dead Redemption is backward compatible on Xbox One now. And guess what? Halo Wars, Left 4 Dead and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night are on the way too it seems, and it appears Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is also playable.
According to Xboxyen, the Rockstar Games western is now able to be played on Xbox One; however, the site notes their disc isn't working with the feature just yet - only the digital version of the game. So, it may just be a matter of time before the Xbox 360 disc is recognized.
Venture Beat was playing it earlier on their Xbox One, and confirmed it was only working with the Games on Demand version of the game.
The game also isn't showing up in "My Games & Apps” on the Xbox One dashboard for those who own it yet, but Venture Beat has a request for comment in with Microsoft now.
If you follow the instructions VB has lined out, you should get it to work, but the site notes it might not work for everyone.
As for the other titles, Xbox One user Rocko Howard posted a video of himself playing Tekken Tag Tournament 2 earlier today through his Excitehype YouTube channel (thanks, NeoGAF).
He also posted images of the RDR listing, Halo Wars, Left 4 Dead, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night on Twitter. Note that some are listed as Games on Demand versions.
Halo Wars still listed on the Xbox Feedback site as "in progress" along with other titles in the works.
