Her Story, Tex Murphy and 7th Guest feature in latest Humble Weekly Bundle

The FMV era is alive and well. Alive and well.

The latest Humble Weekly Bundle includes a number of terrific games, and is themed around full motion video - or FMV for short. You see, back in the day when we got ourselves off cartridges and onto a storage medium capable of hosting video, there was a brief fashion for video games with live action scenes.

The most infamous of these is probably Night Trap, which was rubbish, but don't forget the spooky puzzle adventure The 7th Guest, once the most impressive thing a PC gamer could boast of being able to run; the Crysis of its day.

Anyway, The 7th Guest and its sequel 11th Hour are included in the pay-what-you-want tier of the bundle, along with the Tex Murphy Complete Pack and two more modern takes - Missing: An Interactive Thriller - Episode One and Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure.

If you cough up more than $5 you'll also receive Roundabout (which I passionately adore) and Her Story, an award-winning indie mystery.

Oh, there's also some free green screen footage you can use to make your own FMV clips, sharing them with others. Learn more about that here.

That's your lot this week and yet it's one of the most attractive bundles I've seen in a while. Most of the games are available for Linux and Mac as well as PC, and a few are available DRM-free.

As ever, you choose how proceeds are split between developers, organisers and charities; The Wikimedia Foundation and Special Effect benefit this week. Go forth and take advantage.
