On Xbox One, ARK: Survival Evolved will support local, split-screen co-op for two players. Developer Studio Wildcard confirmed this to Gamespot, saying that it currently has no plans for online split-screen.

ARK: Survival Evolved was released yesterday on Xbox One, but the split-screen feature is planned for release sometime in 2016.

"Many developers are abandoning split-screen local play, but we couldn't stomach that for Ark!" creative director and co-founder Jesse Rapczak told the site.

"Friends and families can look forward to working together to survive the environment, tame its inhabitants and unravel the mysteries of the island--all from the same couch."

The feature is exclusive to Xbox One, at least early on. Also an Xbox One feature is the ability to host your server on a second console.

The game's full release is planned for June, 2016.
