League of Legends character Captain Gangplank isn't dead, he was only resting
Apparently, his total lack of movement was due to being tired and shagged out following a prolonged squawk. Or yell. Or something.
According to Riot Games, the League of Legends Champion Gangplank, will be back in the game soon.
With the Bilgewater: Burning Tides event ending on August 10, players will earn the free Captain Gangplank skin if they own the champion and play a full matchmade game with him before the event ends.
This also includes those who have already played at least one of the matchmade games.
"The orchestrated spectacle of the Dead Pool’s destruction led many to believe that the dread reaver Gangplank perished in the flames. But what is dread may never die, and Gangplank returns to reclaim what he believes to be rightfully his," read the official post on the Lo page.
"Fitted with a new limb to replace the one he lost, the Saltwater Scourge will soon rain cannonballs down on Summoner’s Rift again after a brief stay on the PBE."
The Gangplank skin will depict the Champion as he was before the events of Bilgewater: Burning Tides.
While base Gangplank has been changed by Miss Fortune, the Captain Gangplank skin "hearkens back to before the pirate’s bloody fall," apparently.
More information on his return can be found through the League of Legends website.
