FIFA player destroys controller, gets Mario Götze to replace it

FIFA star Mario Götze has taken responsibility for the performance of his in-game avatar.

A FIFA 15 player sent a picture of a broken controller to Götze, blaming the star athlete for missing an important penalty in-game.

Rather than just laugh it off, Götze promised to replace the control pad - even though it was, of course, the player's fault that Götze's avatar missed the penalty, and definitely their fault that a controller was snapped as a consequence.

This amusing story comes to us courtesy of Kotaku's translation of a German Facebook post. It's good publicity for Götze, although I hope he won't find himself expected to foot the bill for copycat incidents.
