Getting spam messages on Xbox One? Microsoft is working on it
Have you had enough of those FIFA points spam messages yet?
Over the past few weeks, the number of uses reporting receiving spam messages through Xbox Live has increased significantly.
The messages are almost exclusively spamming one thing, a link to third-party FIFA Points resellers. It doesn't matter if you play FIFA or not, chances are right now you've got at least one of those messages sitting in your inbox.
If you try to report those individuals, your options don't include one for spam. And because it's a hassle to take a few minutes of your day to sort through spam messages and report each offender, most people with a large number of followers just ignore all of it, leading to legitimate messages getting buried.
Microsoft is thankfully aware of how bad it's gotten, according the company's Mike Ybarra.
The temporary solution Ybarra is proposing is far from ideal, especially for those who depend on game communities outside of Xbox Live to arrange gaming nights. For instance, those looking to Raid in Destiny using the various LFG sites, and so on.
