Evolve open beta is coming to Xbox One in January, limited tests coming to PS4 and PC
Evolve will have a major open beta on Xbox One starting January 15, with a limited technical test on PC and PlayStation 4.
The Evolve beta starts January 15 and will be open to anyone with an Xbox Live Gold subscription. The open beta will feature the "Hunt" game mode and give you access to the Goliath and Kraken monsters along with the first eight hunters (Markov, Maggie, Val, Hank, Hyde, Griffin, Lazarus, and Bucket). All 12 maps that ship with the final game will be available in the beta.
On January 17, "Evacuation" game mode will be added to the beta. The mode is Evolve's non-linear campaign that combines all the maps and modes of the game into one thing. Not only that, any monster or hunter character you unlock during the beta will carry over to the full game.
As for PlayStation 4, starting January 16 anyone who was invited to Evolve's big alpha will be able to join a closed technical test, which is different from the Xbox One beta. The limited test will not include "Evacuation" mode and your unlocks will not carry over to the full game.
PlayStation 4 users should start receiving email invites soon.
PC players who've been invited to the big alpha or own a copies of Left 4 Dead or BioShock: Infinite on Steam will also be invited to join a limited technical test. Just the like on PS4, it won't include "Evacuation" or keep your unlocks.
All tests will run until January 19.
