Check out 8 minutes of Binding of Isaac: Rebirth co-op action
One of the most interesting additions to Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is co-op play, because dying repeatedly together should be great fun. Now we have a video of designer Edmund McMillen playing the mode and demonstrating how the game has changed from the original release.
When a second player jumps into the game they steal a heart from player one. So player one has 2 hitpoints and player two and 1 hitpoint. That's really not a lot of hitpoints in a game where you get hit a lot. If player two dies they can respawn only if player one has a spare heart to give them. Got it? Good.
The video also shows off some of the new co-op challenges, items, and abilities, showing that Rebirth is more than just a straight remake.
The original Binding of Isaac was a flash game made pretty quickly by Edmund McMillen (of Team Meat) and Florian Himsl. Rebirth is being built from the ground up at Nicalis.
Meanwhile Team Meat just announced A Voyeur for September, which is either a weird 'live-action stealth game' or a weird viral marketing campaign for a Super Meat Boy sequel. Time will tell.
