What the heck is Fortnite? New footage has answers

Fortnite is a bit of a departure from Gears of War, the franchise Epic has lately been most closely associated with, so there's no shame in being a bit confused about it. Check out this new gameplay footage to find out what all the fuss is about.

In Fortnite, players roam the world during daylight hours looking for resources, which they then use to construct elaborate, trap-filled forts.

At night, monsters come flooding out of portals, and you'll need to fight together to hold them off.

See? Not that difficult to understand, and judging by this brief glimpse of the game in action, delightfully simple to play - although you can see where tactics and strategy will play an important role.

Fortnite is currently in closed testing, and expected on PC in 2015.
