PoxNora returned to original developers at Desert Owl Games
PoxNora was destined for closure at Sony Online Entertainment, but in an unusual and gratifying move, the publisher has handed the collectibles game off to another company so that fans can continue to enjoy it.
In a press release, Sony Online Entertainment confirmed that Desert Owl Games acquired Pox Nora last month. To transfer your account, visit this page.
Desert Owl Games is an indie founded by three former members of the PoxNora development team, with several other former PoxNora staffers on board.
"It's unprecedented to have a big game studio return a title to the original creators. Sony Online Entertainment could have easily gone the more common route: stopped producing content and letting Pox Nora fade away. Instead, they chose to do what is best for the players," Desert Owl CEO Art Griffith said.
"It's amazing, and we are so excited to continue to support such a great game."
Financial details of the transfer were not revealed.
PoxNora launched in 2006.
Thanks, Massively.
