Don't Starve Vita possible, Klei looking into it

Don't Starve developer Klei Entertainment is investigating the possibility of a Vita port for the grim but charming survival horror sandbox.

On Twitter, a fan asked the developer whether a Vita version might be possible.

"We're focusing on getting PS4 out first, but we think it would be neat too. We're looking at if it's possible to do. Maybe?" Klei wrote.

Don't Starve casts players in a randomly generated 2D world with no supplies or tools. Players must gather food in line with the titular warning, but gathering is inefficient unless the player rapidly masters crafting and explores widely, and there are worse dangers than hunger.

The PlayStation 4 version of Don't Starve drops this week, and will be free to North American PlayStation Plus subscribers. It's also available on Linux, Mac and PC.

Klei Entertainment is also responsible for Eets, Shank and Mark of the Ninja. A Vancouver indie, it's celebrated for its graphical style, employing a variety of simple cartoon aesthetics to great effect.
