TF2 Two Cities Update includes major Medic overhaul

Team Fortress 2's Medic is even more useful now that the Two Cities update has arrived; it takes us to his hometown of Rottenburg, gives him a revive ability, and powers up the shield's capabilities. Also: here's one of Valve's famous videos.

In an update to yesterday's announcement, Valve revealed the second of the two cities included in the latest TF2 update: Rottenburg. It's the "vaguely European" city whence comes the equally vaguely-European Medic. It's under attack by the Gray Mann's robots, but all will be well thanks to the hometown boy's new abilities.

As well as having the ability to revive fallen comrades, the Medic now has an upgradable shield, which will repel projectiles, electrocute robots, and shoot Mad Milk syringes.

There's also been an upgrade to the bazooka; the Rocket Specialist upgrade lets the Soldier shoot faster rockets that temporarily stun any target they don't kill. Direct hits to a target increase splash damage radius to surrounding enemies.

This new content comes in addition to the Manhattan map, weapon effects, player performance statistics and new community map detailed yesterday. For more details on the contents of the update, check the full patch notes.

Thanks, Polygon.
