Guild Wars 2: Tequatl Rising update gets dated along with new details & screens
Guild Wars 2: Tequatl Rising is the next update for ArenaNet's sprawling MMO, launching September 17. We've got all the details on what's in store along with a batch of fresh images here.
In a press release sent to VG247 this afternoon, publisher NC Soft confirmed that ferocious dragon Tequatl the Sunless has risen again and has evolved, giving him a new range of attacks and deadly abilities. Throughout the new update, players will have to team up with new and old allies in order to fell the beast. It'll take an army of heroes to win the day, but it can be done. Participation will also result in a new Wings of the Sunless item.
On Friday September 20 at 12PM PDT, ArenaNet will host a live gameplay session over on its Twitch channel, giving players a chance to check out the update ahead of time.
Other new features in the update include a 'looking for group' tool that lets players select the type of content they want to play, and tag it with the kind of group you're looking to assemble. It will help you find the right kind of players for the task at hand.
Also, each borderland map in World Vs World play has been expanded with five Ruins of Power capture points, and the mode has a new power in the form of Flame Ram Mastery, giving players a chance to be more effective during siege situations.
Finally, all of the Guild Wars 2 bosses have now been made more challenging, including the Megadestroyer, Golem Mark II and Fire Elemental.
We'll have more on this update soon. For now, check out the screens below and let us know what you think.
