Shadow of the Eternals Kickstarter funding resumes July 25

Precursor Games has announced it will relaunch its Kickstarter for Shadow of the Eternals on July 25.

The developer pulled the title from the crowd funding after the firm felt it had too many "messages” surrounding the formation of a new studio, who all was involved, and failing to focus on detailing the game more.

Denis Dyack also said the “noise” over his involvement led to various misconceptions being added to an already “unclear” funding campaign.

On top of all this, Ken McCulloch, one of Precursor's founding members and former director at Silicon Knights, was arrested earlier this month in Ontario and charged with multiple counts of involvement with child pornography.

"We learned a great deal from our first campaign and we have made substantial changes to the structure of the campaign from both community feedback and observation," Precursor wrote on its website. "We really want to thank our community and followers for the unwavering support and patience over the past few weeks – it’s been a huge inspiration and motivator for us.

"Your feedback has been instrumental in many ways throughout the process of creating the new campaign and we can’t wait for you to see what we have in store for you all."

The new crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter will be restarted for less than the original $1.3 million goal, and Precursor plans to only launch a separate crowdfunding campaign if the Kickstarter is a success - unlike last time out.

If successful, the adventure is expected to launch as an episodic series on PC and Wii U.
