MechWarrior Online gets a new hero mech, has over 1.1M registered Pilots, launch date announced
Piranha Games has updated MechWarrior Online with the Dragon Slayer Hero Mech which is available in the Mech Lab. The firm has also announced a launch date and the news the game was 1.1 million registered players.

Today’s new content also comes with new cockpit statues for the Trebuchet and Jagermech, the new “Tartan” pattern for the more Scottish-inclined players and overall gameplay enhancements.
Voice commands have changed all references of "Team Commander" to "Company Commander" indicating that the 12 vs. 12 player combat will go live soon.
Now for the numbers:
Since the launch of Open Beta, players have spent more than 9.6 million hours or 1100 years playing MechWarrior Online, resulting in the annihilation of more than 46,941,487 Mechs.
3 billion tons of metal have been destroyed on the battlefield, which is like 8,359 Empire State Buildings or stacked end to end would reach to the moon and back 1,221 times.
The total cost of this damage is around 18,316,519,465 C-bills.
The MechWarrior Online player base has earned 10.1 trillion C-Bills and 12,623,214,618 missiles have been fired since Open Beta.
This month alone the amount of lasers fired by pilots hit 2,451,270,519, which is enough raw energy to power 87 million homes for one month.
MechWarrior Online, including the long-awaited 1.0, will launch on September 17.
