Activision's Eric Hirshberg took to the stage to announce the game, and confirmed it will run on a new CoD engine, new characters, that will exist in a brand new universe, and stressed that Infinity Ward didn't want to play it safe by simply doing Modern Warfare 4.
Infinity Ward hired Traffic and Syrianna writer Stephen Gaghan has penned the story, and it is said to be more emotional.
America has been crippled and its military is in disarray, and the Ghosts team is an elite fighting force, all that is left to fight a huge new threat.
You now have a dog in your squad, who you will care about, He protects the team, sniffs out explosives and more.
Gameplay has changed too, as you can now lean around corners, slide into cover and more.
The multiplayer has changed, with dynamic maps that see areas flooding, doors than can be destroyed, and player controlled elements such as shooting a stack of logs and having them roll and kill players.
You can also also edit your avatar fully, right down their helmet, clothing and armour.
The game also runs in 60FPS. Hirshberg stated that the game would be the best Call of Duty yet, as well as the most emotional.
They then showed off a side-by-side comparison of Modern Warfare 3 and Call of Duty Ghosts side-by-side, showing off Activision's new face animation engine, which was revealed a few weeks ago.
It will also have Kinect voice commands, co-op and second-screen functions (presumably on SmartGlass).
