Final Fantasy 14 PS3 screens show off console interface
Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn is nearly upon us, which means the MMORPG's long-delayed PlayStation 3 launch is nearly within reach. Check out these screenshots showing off the console interface in both Japanese and English, as well as some art from the new content arriving with the relaunch.
The PS3 version allows for up to 16 abilities on the action bar; the slots are mapped to the controller's eight directional keys and face buttons, with either L2 or R2 activating one of two options for each key.
You're not restricted to six shortcuts, though; by tapping L2 and R2 together, you can cycle to a new saved action bar, of which you can have up to eight. It sounds like a neat solution.
In with the screens is some artwork showing Odin, Leviathan, a level 40 dungeon, and chocobos in hats. Hats! It's the future.
A Realm Reborn is going into alpha in November; the PS3 launch is expected around New Year.
Thanks, Gematsu.
