CCP US boss Tinney quits for games-health startup
Head of CCP's US operation Mike Tinney has left the company to create a new startup in the games and health sectors.
Tinney has been with CCP since 2006 when it bought White Wolf Games, which he joined back in 1993.
White Wolf is currently working on vampired-themed MMO World of Darkness.
The split was amicable, said Tinney, and will be able to advise whenever asked by CCP.
"CCP has gone through a fast-paced growth cycle. It’s been a fun run and a lot of good experiences and memories," he said. "But I would like to move to a younger, earlier stage company, and plan to start one myself."
On the new startup, no additional details and name was given on the company.
"It’s one part games, one part health and fitness,” he said. “With gamification, there are a lot of people throwing mud at the wall to see what sticks. I am interested it approaching it from a massively multiplayer online view.”
